FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How old should the baby be for best results?

A: The ideal time for newborn sessions is between 7-14 days after birth. At this age, babies are typically still very sleepy and flexible, which allows for those peaceful, curled-up poses we love!

Q: What should I wear? What about baby?

A: For parents, solid colors are preferred—think white, black, cream, or navy. Avoid busy patterns that could distract from the baby. If you'd like to include skin-to-skin or implied nude shots, please bring a tube top or strapless bra. For baby, there’s no need to bring extra outfits unless you have something special you’d like to feature. I have a variety of adorable props and outfits available for the little one!

Q: What should I bring for the baby? Props, etc.?

A: Feel free to bring anything sentimental that you'd like to include in the session, but don’t worry about bringing props. I have everything from blankets and baskets to hair accessories ready to use!

Q: Is there anything else I need to know?

A: The temperature in my studio is kept very warm to ensure the baby is comfortable without clothing. As a result, adults may get a little warm, so I suggest dressing in layers that you can adjust as needed throughout the session.

Q: Will I be able to breastfeed if needed?

A: Absolutely! I respect your privacy and will make sure you have a quiet, comfortable space to nurse if needed.

Q: Are there any foods or drinks I should avoid leading up to the session?

A: To help minimize the chance of tummy troubles for your baby, try avoiding foods that can cause gas, like spicy foods, cabbage, broccoli, or dairy products. Certain foods, like peanuts, fish, and wheat, can also trigger sensitivities or allergies in babies.

Q: What happens if the baby uses the bathroom on things?

A: No worries—this is totally expected! Everything in the studio is washable, so it won’t be an issue.

Q: Can I include a sibling(s)?

A: Yes! Older siblings are welcome, and I have a large yard with toys to keep them entertained. If possible, it may be helpful to arrange for someone to pick up the sibling(s) partway through the session, depending on the package you’ve chosen.

Q: Is there a deposit to book a session?

A: Yes, a $100 deposit is required to secure your session date. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session.

Q: Are taxes included?

A: Taxes are not included in the price, and will be added at checkout.

Q: When should I expect my images to be ready?

A: I strive to have your images ready within 14 days of your session. You’ll be notified as soon as they’re ready to view!

Q: Where are you located?

A: My studio is located at 136 Woodward Way, Easley, SC 29640. Please note that my studio is in my home, and you’ll need to be able to go upstairs.

Q: Do you have an assistant?

A: Yes, I work with the same assistant for each newborn session to ensure the safety and comfort of your little one during the shoot.

Q: Should I arrive early if I plan on feeding the baby once I get to the studio?

A: Yes, I recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early to allow time for feeding and settling in before the session starts.

"Tawyna is an incredible photographer. She is versatile- she has an excellent eye and gives great posing ideas. She has taken headshots for our business, photographed my children, and beautiful boudoir photos too. She offers excellent packages from mini shoots and more. I love that she is always challenging herself to learn more and educate others on the behind the scenes of what all happens from the prep of a shoot the the end. It makes me appreciate the hard work that is poured into each photo."
